Adjust Your Driving Habits

In every state, there's a law known as the Move Over Law. This law requires that drivers move into another lane (a farther lane) or at least slow down by at least 15 mph when passing a vehicle that has stopped on the highway. By doing this, a safer situation is created, and a fatality is possible avoided.

We here at Bob Allen Nissan want to remind you that this law exists and that you should follow it whenever possible. Sometimes it is not safe for you to move into another lane when passing a stopped vehicle. If this is the case, you should slow down if possible when passing a stopped vehicle on the highway.

By following the Move Over laws, you can help to save lives and reduce the 200 fatalities that occur each year to highway workers alone. All it takes is a small adjustment to your driving habits.
